I chose to do a thematic unit on the three states of matter because
it is one of the fundamental parts of science. Children need to know the difference between the three states and how to change matter from one form to another. In their daily life they will see matter change to different forms at various times. Instructional strategies are used through out all of the lessons. All of my strategies are numbered to make it easy to refer back to. There are five lessons to teach the students about the three states of matter. Below you can click on the aspects of my lessons, which are bolded and purple. I also included the worksheets and a conceptual map to explain what the students are learning.
